IS CREATIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY RIGHT FOR ME?

Collaborative & Imaginative Healing

What is a role that you’ve been playing in your life that you’d like to expand, step into, or retire? If your anxiety had a weight and a shape, what would it look like and where would it live in your body? What would the wisest and most compassionate part of yourself say to another part of you that feels scared, uncertain, or defeated?

These are just some of the ways that we might talk about what you are navigating in life and relationships in a creative psychotherapy session. In this stressful world, as we process our own stuff and what is going on externally, creative psychotherapy can help alleviate self-doubt, ease anxious thoughts, and deepen self-understanding. When you work with me, you can expect a supportive, judgment-free space in which to express yourself, be vulnerable, and explore.

Beginning the therapeutic process can feel intimidating! If you’re unsure where to start, let’s talk and we’ll figure it out together.

WHAT KIND OF CLIENTS DO I WORK WITH?

I work with adult individuals and couples who are experiencing anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and working to heal both 'big T’ and ‘little t’ traumas. You do not have to identify as an artist or creative type to reap the benefits of creative arts therapy, just a willingness to show up and be curious about yourself. I believe that our emotions and experiences live in the body and I help my clients tap into their bodily experiences as a source of self-knowledge and change.

“As a participant in Hollis's psychodrama group, I was floored by Hollis's incredible facilitation skills and capacity to create a safe and courageous environment. It was incredibly moving and powerful to witness and act in others' stories as well as seeing my own stories played out. I would jump at any opportunity to work with Hollis again!”
