Is Creative Psychotherapy right for you?

What is a role that you’ve been playing in your life lately that you’d like to retire? If your anxiety had a weight and a shape, where would it live in your body? What would the wisest and most compassionate part of yourself say to another part of you that feels scared, uncertain, or defeated?

These are just some of the ways that we might talk about what you are navigating in your life and relationships in a creative arts therapy session. In a time that might be stressful or challenging, processing not only your own stuff, but what the world is throwing at us as well, creative psychotherapy can help deepen self-understanding, alleviate self-doubt, and ease anxious thoughts. Whether this is your first time in therapy or your 100th, you can expect a supportive and judgment-free space to express yourself and explore your unique needs and goals.

I work with adult individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and working to heal both 'big T’ and ‘little t’ traumas. Every phase of life brings new challenges and points of identity formation. Not knowing what’s on the other side can be scary. You do not have to identify as a ‘creative type’ to reap the benefits of this therapy, just a willingness to show up and be curious about yourself. A session with me might involve metaphor, making art, writing, improvising, guided meditation, role play, or simply talking things through. I believe that our emotions and experiences live in the body and I help my clients tap into their bodily experiences as a source of self-knowledge and change.

Beginning therapy can be overwhelming and intimidating. Are you ready for a change but uncertain about the next step? Let’s figure it out together.
